“Rejoice always,” begins the reading from 1 Thessalonians. Isaiah and the psalmist make clear that God is turning our mourning into laughter and shouts of joy. “All God’s children got a robe,” go the words of a spiritual. It is not so much a stately, formal, pressed outfit as it is a set of party clothes, clothes we are happy to wear. We receive that robe in baptism, and in worship we gather for a foretaste of God’s party.    (You will find the link to the live-stream of the Worship service below.)

Here’s a link to this week’s readings if you want to read them in advance of the service:

Readings for the Third Sunday in Advent

We are indeed grateful to our newly minted “live-stream experts” as they have diligently worked many hours over the last several weeks to iron out the wrinkles in the process. New provincial guidelines to combat the Covid-19 virus have brought about the very difficult decision to suspend in-person worship at one of the busiest and happiest times of our church year. We sincerely appreciate that we are able to have a virtual link to our church through this live-streaming connection. Thank you to the Tech Team!

(Note: If you aren’t able to watch the service live, just click on the link below to go to the recording of the service on YouTube. If you join the service part way through, you will be able to watch from the beginning once the service is over.)
