Pastor’s Message/Worship Resources: July 12, 2020

Welcome to Church Online

SPL_Church exterior_OnlineWorship

In the midst of the unknown, we have leaned on the strength of an all knowing God. Today, no matter where we gather, we remain God’s people. Our service is online each week, with music, God’s Word, messages of hope, prayers for the people, and blessings to take into your week. At least for now, this is where we continue to be. We hope you will join us here as we await the time when we will be able to gather together for worship and fellowship once again. But for now, keep safe and know that our God is constant.

6th Sunday after Pentecost:

Ancient Gardener, your holy word is planted in our hearts as good seed in fertile soil. Nurture us that we may bear fruit abundantly. Amen

Gathering Music: Come As You Are

There’s rest for the weary; Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t cure

Prayer of the Day:

PrayerOfTheDay

Let us pray…     Almighty God, we thank you for planting in us the seed of your word. By your Holy Spirit help us to receive it with joy, live according to it, and grow in faith and hope and love, through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Amen.

Praise with Music: The Trees of the Field

You shall go out with joy
And be led forth with peace
The mountains and the hills
Will break forth before you
There’ll be shouts of joy
And all the trees of the field
Will clap, will clap their hands

Below is a link to a children’s lesson at the Sermons4Kids website (where, as you might guess, you will find messages to help explain the weekly Scriptures to kids). There are also links to a couple of YouTube videos about today’s Parable of the Sower. Both were good – you can decide which one you like best.

The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen

Life-giving God, heal our lives, that we may acknowledge your wonderful deeds and offer you thanks from generation to generation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
