Easter 2020 Online Worship

In this post you will find a series of resources for you to use in your homes this Easter Sunday. Check out one or two, or combine them as they suit your needs. Throughout the post you will find links for Pastor Jonny’s sermon, a children’s message, Easter video messages, Easter music and several text files in PDF format should you wish to download and/or print. At the end of the post there are links to NALC Bishop Dan Selbo’s Easter Message and sermon. Remember that the internet is a very busy place these days – a few of the items may take time to download on your computer/tablet/phone. You may need some patience. 😉  It is our deepest hope that these resources will bring the joy of Easter to you wherever you are celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord.

Rejoice with Music: Christ the Lord is Risen Today

Prayer of the Day: The Exultet (Easter Prayer)

The Exultet (5th-7th century, adapted)
Rejoice, heavenly powers! Sing, choirs of angels!
Exult, all creation around God’s throne!
Jesus Christ, our King, is risen! Sound the trumpet of salvation!
Rejoice, heavenly powers!
Sing, choirs of angels!
Jesus Christ, our King, is risen!
Rejoice, O earth, in shining splendour,
Radiant in the brightness of your King!
Christ has conquered! Glory fills you! Darkness vanishes forever!
Rejoice, heavenly powers!
Sing, choirs of angels!
Jesus Christ, our King, is risen!
Rejoice, O mother church! Exult in glory!
The risen Saviour shines upon you! Let this place resound with joy,
Echoing the mighty song of all God’s people!
Rejoice, heavenly powers!
Sing, choirs of angels!
Jesus Christ, our King, is risen! Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen
